A Decision Reshaped to Combat Climate Change in the Netherlands

     Today, a decision was made with the opportunity to reshape the fight against climate change in the Netherlands. As a result of the decision, the government will reduce the level of carbon emissions by at least 25% of 1990 in one year.

The pressure on governments has increased as we have visibly felt climate change as a result of global warming. A victory in the fight against climate change has been won in the Netherlands today, though some things can no longer be restored.

Urgenda argued that carbon pollution violates Dutch citizens’ right to life under the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, signed by 47 countries.
